A Dishwasher or Steward maintains the dishwashing area and cleans restaurant equipment, glass and silverware as well as food preparation utensils and keeps them in an orderly manner so they can be picked up by restaurant staff when needed.
This person must have good communication skills and have the ability to lift, pull and push a moderate amount of weight.
This is a fast-paced position that will involve constant customer interaction.Responsibilities
- Works as a member of a dishwashing crew ensuring soiled items are placed in proper racks or containers which carry them through a dishwashing machine.
- Inspects, removes, and properly stores all clean items from the dishwashing machine.
- Washes steam kettles, tilt fryers, and food preparation equipment too large to put in dishwashing machines
- Supplies dishware to food preparation stations as needed; removes soiled dishware and cooking equipment from food preparation stations.
- Keeps work area (floor, machine, shelving, carts, etc.) clean at all times.
- Attend and participate in meetings, completing followup as assigned.
- Perform work regularly and predictably.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be able to work holidays and weekends, as well as flexible shifts and/or unusual hours.
- You are a team player. You're not afraid to roll up your sleeves and jump in to help your Team
- You show passion & commitment.
- You thrive in a fastpaced environment.
- Must be able to stand and exert wellpaced mobility for up to 8 hours in length.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
