SALARY:
$ $26.26 per hour

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performing a wide variety of clerical duties such as: maintaining patient charts; facilitating the admission/discharge/ transfer process; maintaining confidentiality of information; documenting and maintaining a variety of statistical information for the unit; answering the telephone and taking accurate messages.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Medical Office Administration Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Proven knowledge of medical terminology (tested);
- Proven knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel (tested basic level);
- Proven keyboarding skills of 35 wpm (tested);
- Previous experience transcribing doctor's orders;
- Proven experience/knowledge of both
CUPEand ONA scheduling language and associated premium entitlements; - Proven experience in computerized Meditech Personnel/Payroll and Admissions Modules;
- Demonstrated ability to work with mínimal supervision and to demonstrate initiative;
- Proven organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize them;
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills;
- Physically capable of performing the work including reaching, bending, pulling;
- Must have satisfactory performance record;

- Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices, including staff safety, patient safety, environmental safety, and participates in regular inservice education in this area; and,
- Proven good attendance record with capability of maintaining this same standard.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and C.U.P.E Local 6364.
