The Laboratory Technician_

- erforming sample preparation / extractions of target compounds under specific matrices and methodology._

The key accountabilities of the position are:

Review LIMS summary reports to plan and organize daily work
Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) when performing sample extraction and cleanup to ensure quality data is provided to the client
Identify any nonroutine samples and seek guidance on procedures for handling
Ensure priority samples are included in workload in order to meet TAT specifications required by the client
Identify and communicate procedural nonconformances to Supervisor
Participate, when requested, in method troubleshooting and nonconformance investigations
Employ proper laboratory techniques to minimize risk of mislabelling, sample mixup and cross contamination between samples and other materials
Accurately prepare all reagents and standards required for the methodology
Provide general lab support
Post-Secondary school education, preferably in sciences, or equivalent experience
Accurately follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and instructions
Detail oriented with accurate record keeping skills
Good timemanagement, communication, multitasking and priority setting skills
Strong computer skills
