Highlights of this opportunity:


  • Supports directors and producers in the preparation of the daily program line ups, rehearsals, live or live for playback broadcasts and special events; coordinates in preparation for broadcast;
  • Revises and updates the lineup as required; ensures that all updated information is conveyed to all production personnel;
  • Imports/exports, searches and retrieves visual/audio content from various sources and records to the internal servers;
  • Uses appropriate technology to ensure proper timing, editing, and review of content;
  • Calls and times programs, commercial breaks, edited items, and script segments during live and prerecorded telecasts;
  • Gathers, screens, and prepares recorded items for playback; coordinates files of daily news items;
  • Communicates with master control on timing of commercial breaks;
  • Communicates with editors on playback of news items out of the edit suites when needed;
  • Times live shows, prerecorded items or interviews, alerts all key people to timing issues;
  • Coordinates studio, fiber, satellite feeds, and Zoom/Skype/Dejero when needed;
  • Sends scripts/files to outside organizations;
  • Uploads stories/files to other APTN platforms and broadcasters when required;
  • Attends team production/editorial meetings;
  • Travel and shift work may be required.
  • Assists other team members and carries out other duties as needed and assigned.

Your accomplishments and experience include:


  • Diploma or certificate from college or university with proven related experience; or equivalent combination of education, experience, and traditional knowledge;
  • Broadcast experience;
  • Experience working with an Indigenous organization as well as knowledge of Indigenous cultural perspectives is an asset.
