Job Description:


  • Reconciles and maintains general ledger payroll account balances.
  • Execute the month end payroll closing process, including system driven.
- data uploads and adjusting journal entries.

  • Perform the complete cycle of payroll gains, deductions, remittances, account reconciliation and yearend process.
  • Ensure government remittances are processed on a timely basis.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements for employee time sheet tracking system and payroll processing procedures.
  • Respond to requests from the government and relevant agencies when required.
  • Respond to requests for information from employees and managers.
  • Participates in the development and/or updating of the company's compensation policies.
  • Lead and resolve payroll queries.
  • Maintain strong crossfunctional team relationships.
  • Perform the complete cycle of payroll gains, deductions, remittances, account reconciliation, yearend process, etc.
  • Develop and coach a team of payroll coordinators in regard to new processes.
  • Resolve more complex issues raised by the payroll team or managers regarding payroll, compensation, and company policies; efficiently and tactfully.

Qualifications:


  • Diploma of Collegial Studies in accounting or another relevant field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll processing, and accounting.
  • Member of the Canadian Payroll Association is an asset.
  • Advanced Excel
  • Thorough knowledge of federal laws and regulations.
  • Good interdepartmental communication
  • Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
  • Respect for confidential information, integrity, and attention to detail.
  • Bilingualism (French and English spoken and written).
