As part of the Service team, you will be an integral part of ensuring parts and machinery are properly functioning—an essential detail in keeping the business running.


Job Duties and Responsibilities Include:


Maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment include:

  • Internal combustion engines and components, both stationary and mobile
  • Onhighway vehicles, trucks and buses, and towed onhighway and offhighway vehicles, commonly called trailers
  • Interpret work orders and technical manuals
  • Keep equipment cleaned, lubricated, and maintained, diagnose faults or malfunctions
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure that the work done meets manufacturers' specifications and legislated regulations, and complete service reports
  • Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of trucktrailer systems including structural, brake and electrical systems
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions and confirm findings with supervisor or management to determine whether to repair or replace unit
  • Preventive maintenance on commercial trailers
  • Use various hand tools and machinery to repair problems trailers, welding on trailers
  • Perform scheduled maintenance service, such as oil changes, lubrications and tune ups
  • Maintain good working records for time, parts, supplies and outside purchases in repairs
  • Maintain and care for shop tools, equipment, and vehicles
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Service Sales Manager, Branch AfterMarket Manager and/or Shop Foreman
  • Experience working with different engines and motors, brakes and hydraulics specifications

Job Requirements and Qualifications Include:


  • Ability to work under mínimal supervision
  • Must be fluent in the English language
  • Possess problem solving skills
  • 2+ years of experience in similar role is an asset
  • Completion of a formal Heavy Equipment Technician or Truck and Transport Service Technician apprenticeship program preferred
  • Communicate with others professionally
  • Order all parts and materials required to perform assigned repairs
  • Maintain work area in a clean and safe condition
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Inspection Mechanic Certificate is an asset.
  • Understanding of Shop protocols
  • Understanding of health and safety best practices
