A.T. Storrs Ltd. is a Canadian wholesale and distribution company specializing in the souvenir and tourist market. A family owned and operated company, A.T. Storrs has been in business for over 45 years and is an industry leader selling products across North America. Our office is located in Vancouver close to public transit.

North West Laser Design is a division of A.T. Storrs Ltd. that focuses on laser engraving wooden souvenir items.

We use Universal brand laser engraving machines in our facility to mostly engrave text, simple line art images and grey scale images.

We use Corel Draw as a graphic layout program for our designs.

We are currently looking for an operator for our laser machines who can load blank product onto jigs and run the machines.

We have 4 laser machines and this position would be responsible for operating 2 of the machines.

This position will have a key role in the production aspects of North West Laser Design and have a position working with a team to help the workflow of orders.

Responsibilities

Operating Universal brand laser engraving machines, including laying out items in a jig, cleaning & upkeep of the equipment, and overseeing the operation of 2 of the machines
Prepping items prior to lasering as well as cleaning items after lasering
Picking orders and packaging items when needed
Duties as assigned by supervisor

Requirements:

Previous experience as a machine operator in a production environment
Previous work with laser engraving machines is a plus
Understanding and comfort with computers and graphics programs is a plus
Very strong written and verbal English skills
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Ability to work on your feet for 8 hour days, 5 days a week
Keen attention to detail with the ability to produce consistent and accurate work

Training will be provided for the specifics of operating the laser engraving machines, but prior experience working with machines in a production environment will be a considerable asset for this position.

Compensation
This position has an hourly salary of $22.00/h and is full time at 40 hours per week. The hours are Monday - Friday 6:00am - 2:00pm

This position also includes a $1000 annual Healthcare Spending Account (enacted after 3 month probation period and prorated to annual amount if necessary).
