Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Professional accounting designation and senior accounting experience. A suitable combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
  • Experience in the preparation and coordination of estimates, including salaries, operating and program funding, revenue forecasting and capital budgeting for short term and long term range
  • Experience in expenditure management measures including forcasting
  • Experience preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports, including variance analysis
  • Experience preparing yearend reports and journal entries, including staff time allocation by program, payroll account reconciliation, open payables and Notes to Financial Statements
  • Experience with Excel. Abilitity to create spreadsheets, manipulate data using formulas, functions and import/export data
  • Experience managing and leading staff
  • Strong written communication skills, including the ability to prepare financial reports and correspondence for all audience levels
  • Strong verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex financial information to management and staff
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups and as part of a team
  • Excellent organization and time management skills with the ability to prioritize assignments and work under time constraints to meet deadlines

Desired:

  • Experience with SAP, Masterpiece, Property Management System, Energy Cap, Loans System or financial software

Duties:


The Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis - Manitoba Housing is responsible for providing leadership, direction and focus to ensure the divisional comptrollership function is appropriately maintained to meet the needs of the division for financial control, accountability, budgeting, reporting and the safeguarding and protection of financial assets.

The incumbent is responsible for the coordination and assembly of all financial information required for the preparation of annual estimates, monthly and quarterly financial reports, expenditure and revenue forecasts, variance reporting, financial analysis and other departmental ad hoc reports.
