As an Estimator / Take Off Specialist with HJC Corp.


your specific duties will include:

  • Review and evaluate commercial construction projects to determine scope of work, as well as understand project drawings and specifications
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for commercial bids
  • Use construction takeoff software to generate quotes
  • Resolve project discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information

Do you have what it takes?
We are looking for an Estimator / Takeoff Specialist with skills including:

  • Strong skills reading plans and provide timely and accurate material takeoffs
  • Correctly reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications and addenda's
  • Accurately setting up each job in takeoff software and online project management tools
  • Read and interpret multiple sources of data all at once
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment to meet strict deadlines

All interested applicants must possess:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with strong math skills
  • Preference given to those with college level construction estimating courses
  • Experience a/o willingness to learn On-Screen Takeoff (OST) and our estimating system
  • Ability to maintain positive relationships with team members, vendors and customers
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office with preference given to those with a good working knowledge of Infor M3 and QuickBase
  • Knowledge in the lighting, plumbing, restroom partitions and accessories, tile, water heater and HVAC industries is an asset

$42,000.00-$48,000.00 per year
