Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Position Overview
The incumbent participates as an active member of the treatment team carrying out specific therapeutic and rehabilitative interventions with patients based on recovery/treatment plans which have been developed following the Psychosocial Rehabilitation model.
Provides patients with supervision and guidance, assistance with personal care, comfort and support in going about daily living, therapeutic and recreational activities in a safe manner.
Experience providing care and support to persons with disabilities preferred.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
Minimum Grade 10 education, Manitoba standards, required.
Successful completion of a recognized Health Care Aide course preferred.
Certification/Licensure/Registration

Qualifications and Skills
Excellent command of the English language (both oral and written).
Preference will be given to those applicants competent in an Aboriginal language and/or knowledge in Aboriginal customs, traditions and values.
Information and/or training will be provided within the probation period for the following:Personal Health Information Act (PHIA), Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) and Principles of Routine Practices (Universal Precautions).
Regional, site and unit policies and procedures.

General skills and ability to perform all tasks and responsibilities relevant to the duties of the position.

Physical Requirements
Position involves extensive physical activity such as lifting, transferring and transporting patients and equipment.
Please note that an employee is not permitted to hold two or more positions in Shared Health that combine to equal more than 1.0 FTE.
