    Description

    Basic Purpose of Position:

    At the direction of the ISE Manager, carry out technical support activities such as research, analysis, vendor/manufacturer communication, and communication with all the Jazz operational divisions, in order to ensure the highest levels of fleet safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

    Although there are several classifications such as avionics, systems, and maintenance programs, the role of each specialist will be a flexible one within the fleet group. The successful applicant will be expected to work as part of a larger ISE group team. Description below is generic - aircraft type and technical area skills will be assessed when considering each candidate.

    Key Activities:

    • Participate in technical research, investigation, analysis, and proposal generation as it relates to aircraft performance, damage and repair, modifications, Service Bulletins, and Airworthiness Directives.
    • Ensure analysis, response, and corrective action issues are addressed from information presented in regular reliability reports and quality audit/surveillance results.
    • Maintain knowledge of the most current industry information for safe and efficient operation of the fleet.
    • Provide technical support to maintenance production and other support services (Engineering, Quality, etc.). This activity may involve travel to various Jazz locations.
    • Provide support to the Error Management (Human Factors) program through participation in investigation, research, and by attending incident review meetings as required.
    • Co-ordinate special fleet projects.
    • Organise data to promulgate action plans.
    • Attend vendor and manufacturer seminars.
    • Increase: long term fleet reliability; on-time performance; component MTBUR/MTBF; aircraft check periodicity; aircraft appearance.
    • Reduce: customer complaints; maintenance costs; material costs.
    • Attend Evaluation/Mod/SB Review Committees, reliability working groups, and all other forums as required.
    • Liase with manufacturers, other operator fleet manager, other companies, vendors.
    • Establish and maintain effective communications with line and heavy maintenance stations.
    • Attend monthly meetings as required; provide requested data/reports; report on progress of assignments/projects; identify performance/reliability problems and solutions.
    • Other related duties as assigned.
    • Perform duties in accordance with established policies and procedures while giving primary consideration to personal safety, and the safety of co-workers and customers.

    Qualifications:

    • Secondary education or technical college diploma as a minimum.
    • AME licence or equivalent experience & background (M or E).
    • Excellent communication skills required.
    • Excellent computer skills required.
    • Excellent Statistical analysis and reporting skills required.
    • Minimum five years performing a technical function in maintenance.
