    Overview of role:

    We are seeking a Product Owner to join our Digital team. This individual will exhibit the innate ability to be curious, challenge norms, take ownership, and have proven ability to drive and deliver results. Collaborating with the Digital API team and stakeholders, the Product Owner will champion the optimization and enhancement of the Digital APIs, the backbone to our Digital Products. As Product Owner you will be responsible for defining the product's capabilities and features based on the product's overall vision and support the delivery of the product roadmap. This opportunity will enable working in collaboration with our partners, internal stakeholders, and team members across the Digital team including, but not limited to, Digital analytics, User Research, Design and Technology delivery teams.

    Key deliverables include:

    • Writing user stories and acceptance criteria for new features and functionality
    • Prioritize, manage and groom the product backlog
    • Coordinate with various internal teams to document and plan feature releases
    • Lead efforts to define a clear concise API taxonomy
    • Create application and interface specifications
    • Provide day to day support on the implementation of large-scale projects
    • Influence and assist on strategic vision for WestJet through assigned digital touch points
    • Define key metrics for digital initiatives and projections/estimated impact, while serving as a champion for digital channel performance
    • Research, recommend and lead implementation, where applicable, and suggest enhancements based on the analysis of competitive digital channels and industry trends
    • Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support and deliver digital initiatives

    Experience and qualifications:

    • Completed Diploma or Bachelor's Degree (Technical/ Business/ Science)
    • 3-5 years of experience working in digital or emerging technology
    • Excellent detailed written, verbal, presentation skills
    • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail
    • Experience in backlog grooming, user story development and prioritization
    • Experience in Agile methodologies including Scrum
    • Digital commerce in e-commerce industries
    • Understanding of HTTP and REST architecture
    • Exposure to Cucumber or other BDD testing frameworks
    • Knowledge of query languages such as GraphQL, SQL or Cypher
    • Knowledge of modeling data with JSON
    • General understanding of infrastructure
