Department Overview
Reporting to the Manager, Wealth Product Shelf Analysis & Insights, the incoming Senior Analyst will be responsible for delivering timely and actionable insights on investment product and portfolio management trends.
-
Investment and Product Analysis:
- Develop product /investment analysis and insights to support product due diligence, shelf strategy and investment risk management efforts
- Develop and automate reports at the firm, advisor and client levels to highlight portfolio trends, risk concentrations and product dynamics.
- Proactively research market, industry and investment trends, and regulatory changes to support various product management initiatives and identify sources of potential investment risk
- Actively participate in various workstreams with internal partners to understand business objectives, required KPIs and translate them into data collection and data analysis strategies
Data Science/ Analytics:
- Develop a thorough understanding of the databases and systems landscape at TD wealth and support the optimization of data extraction/validation processes
- Use advanced analytic tools to develop repeatable and reliable workflows for extracting, compiling and summarizing wealth product/investment data to drive operational efficiency and increase productivity
- Participate in projects by analyzing approaches, processes and tools to support the Wealth Shelf Management & Investment Research Teams' data requirements
Visualization:
- Provide data visualization support by employing various techniques to support the business in interpreting data and communicating implications and /or recommendations to the business
- Provide data visualization expertise and interpretation of data into meaningful insights or visuals to help facilitate business understanding of outcomes and recommendations
- Support the production and enhancement of dashboards, regular and adhoc reports, analysis, and insights to assist datadriven decision making
Other:
- Demonstrate strong initiative, and use strong communication, analytical and problemsolving skills to add value to each initiative, project, or team you are assigned to
Job Requirements
- Postsecondary degree majoring in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, Data, or related field an asset
- Experience with Alteryx and/or SQL programming
- Strong statistical/analytics skills & interest/knowledge of investment management
- Excellent verbal & written communication, with ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team environment
- Enrolment in the CFA program is a plus
- Experience with VBA, Python, or other programming languages is a plus
