Job Requirements:


  • A Bachelor's Degree in the resource management field, plus one (1) year of related experience; OR,
  • A Diploma in the resource management field, plus three (3) years of related experience; OR,
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may also be considered.
  • Valid BC Class 5 Driver's Licence or equivalent.

Related experience must include the following:

  • Experience working in natural resource management.
  • Experience in consulting, negotiating and resolving conflicts with stakeholders and/or partners in natural resource management.
Preference may be given to those with one (1) or both of the following:

  • Minimum six (6) months of experience performing technical duties and working with the Water Act or the Water Sustainability Act and/or other statutes that support natural resource management.
  • Experience in analysis techniques and principles used for water quantity assessments that help ensure fair and equitable allocation and management of water resources.

Willingness Statements:

  • Willing and able to conduct field work which may include travel to remote areas by vehicle, boat, air or foot, overnight or extended stay in rough camp conditions and outdoor work in all weather conditions.
  • Must be physically able to carry equipment and supplies in difficult terrain.
  • May be required to operate field equipment (i.e., quad, snowmobile).

These positions can be located in one of the following Ministry of Forests' offices: Cranbrook, Nelson, Revelstoke, Grand Forks, Castlegar, Invermere, or Nakusp.
