Part-time, Permanent


Salary:
$16.55 / hour


Store Hours: 10 am - 7 pm (must be willing to work weekends, based on business needs)


Location: 700 Kipling Avenue, Etobicoke ON M8Z 5G3

Habitat for Humanity GTA is greater Toronto's most recognized provider and advocate of solutions that tackle our region's housing crisis.

We focus on creative solutions to address the affordable housing crisis in Toronto, Brampton, Caledon, York Region and Durham Region.

Since 1988, Habitat GTA has built 23 new communities, empowering more than 500 families.


Habitat ReStore is a chain of non-profit home improvement retail stores with 10 locations across the Greater Toronto Area, owned and operated by Habitat for Humanity GTA. We sell home furnishings, appliances, and other renovation materials at a fraction of the price. Our items are donated from businesses and individuals and undergo inspection and testing to ensure they meet our high-quality standards.

The Opportunity

  • Represent Habitat for Humanity GTA as a Brand Ambassador by modeling our values and guiding principles
  • Deliver exceptional customer service instore and by telephone
  • Accept donations of gently used items
  • Receive and unload shipments of products from our delivery trucks
  • Merchandise and organize products on the store floor
  • Perform all standard cash register transactions proficiently and accurately according to operational procedures including cash, debit card, and credit card transactions
  • Support with updating our ecommerce platform

What You Bring

  • A passion for our notforprofit cause
  • Past retail or customer service experience is considered an asset
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting (30 + pounds) and walk, stand, sit, and stair climb on a frequent basis
  • Safety boots required: CSA approved safety footwear to be worn at all times
  • Understanding of volunteer management, renovation and building materials is considered an asset
  • Passion for retail and customer service is considered an asset
