Financial Planning & Analysis is a team of finance professionals dedicated to providing high-quality information, analysis, advice and financial stewardship to help the management teams in making decisions, managing resources and meeting its operational and strategic goals.


Our team is responsible for the annual operating planning process, multi-year financial forecasting model, PowerBI and development of new reporting tools, administrator for Adaptive Insights, Qlik, and Azure database, compensation planning & analysis including retroactive adjustments, month-end journal entries, reporting & analysis, accounts reconciliations, financial reporting, audit, MOH funding tracking, monitoring & associated accounting and reporting, Ministry reporting including MIS, SRI and COVID reporting, statistics, data quality, process improvements and controls, support benchmarking and analysis, support Post Constructions Operating Plan (PCOP) works, financial and staffing model tool, i.e.

RN/IP forecasting tool. administrative support to clients including onboarding of new managers and administrative assistants. Our team is committed to continuous improvement in data integration, and data quality for analysis and reporting.


The
Manager, Funding & Ministry Reporting reports to the Senior Manager, Financial Planning, Analysis & Reporting and will be responsible for financial management and responsibility for the Ministries of Health and Long-Term Care and Ontario Health (Ministry) interpreting, triaging of funding letters, funding tracking, monitoring & associated accounting and reporting; lead and overseeing all external reporting to the Ministry of Health & Long Term Care (MOHLTC), Ontario Health agencies, Ontario Hospitals Associations (OHA) etc.; working collaboratively with Decision Support, Health Record and clinical leaders continuous improvement in data integration, and data quality and ensure we are compliance with the Ontario Healthcare Reporting Standards (OHRS) requirements.


Ministry Funding, Accounting & Reporting

  • Receives, reviews and actions all funding correspondence from the Ministry
  • Responsible for review of all Ministry funding reconciliations to ensure all relevant costs are accounted for in the submission.
  • Reviews and oversees the financial accounting, reconciliations and reporting for all Ministryrelated fund accounts including cash flow and coordination of audits when required
  • Responsible to monitor and report on HSAA indicators
  • Responsible for analyzing and interpreting results impacting the Hospital¿s performance and funding including Quality Based Procedures (QBP) and Health Based Allocation Methodology (HBAM)
  • Develop an indepth understanding and knowledge of the funding model, i.e. Growth & Efficiency Model (GEM) & provide analysis on the Impact Analysis when the workbook is available
  • Identify the key drivers and opportunities to improve the funding position for the hospital
  • Responsible for tracking all MOH Funding letters and overseeing the documentation for education, training, and process for each reporting requirement. Facilitate the working group, when required, for new reporting requirements with the key stakeholders (i.e., Epic reporting team, Decision Support, Health Record, clinical leaders)
  • Participate in projects, task groups, initiatives and committees as required
