ABOUT LOST BOYS | SCHOOL OF VISUAL EFFECTS
At Lost Boys | School of Visual Effects, we are a premier institution offering specialized training in Visual Effects for aspiring artists.
We are a close-knit community of fewer than ten staff and approximately 40 students, focused on imparting industry-standard knowledge and skills to create world-class visual effects professionals.
ABOUT THE ROLE
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage and optimize daily operations, ensuring a seamless learning experience for students and a conducive working environment for staff.
- Develop and execute strategic plans that align with the school's mission and vision, and drive growth, development, and industry recognition.
- Financial Management
- Manage the school's budget, monitor financial performance, and ensure the efficient utilization of resources.
- Coordinate staff and ensure they have the resources and support to perform their duties effectively.
- Oversee student services and activities; enhance student satisfaction by actively engaging with students, addressing concerns, and continually improving the quality of education and services.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with industry partners, potential employers, alumni, and the broader community.
- Ensure and uphold compliance with all relevant legislation and regulatory standards.
- Represent Lost Boys Studio at industry events and public meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Education Management, Visual Arts or related field.
- Proven experience in leadership and management, preferably in a trade school or educational setting, creative industries, or a related field.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets effectively. Ability to make datadriven decisions.
- Knowledge of the visual effects industry, including trends, technologies, and the job market.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong strategic planning and business development skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with various stakeholders.
- Understanding of educational legislation in Canada.
- Existing relationships within the visual effects industry are considered an asset.
- Bilingual in English and French is preferred.
COMPENSATION & WORKING CONDITIONS
- Salary Range: $70k $85k per year, overtime exempt Management
- Comprehensive Benefits Package
- Fulltime: Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
- Hybrid
