    Description
    This position will oversee the monitoring and execution of a waste management program at our customer's site location. It is a key position and will serve as the liaison between GFL, its customer, 3rd party logistics providers,
    transportation drivers and other onsite waste vendors.


    Key Responsibilities:
    Ensure all materials generated at the customer location are managed in accordance with Provincial, Federal and customer requirements.


    Monitor scrap and waste management compliance status, conducting inspections, reporting findings to site personnel and assisting with the development of corrective actions.


    Coordinate and assist with the initial waste evaluation of unidentified or known products to ensure the proper storage and management of materials.

    Assist site personnel with scrap and recycling shipment planning to maximize cost savings and sustainability goals.

    Oversee shipments of scrap, recycle and waste materials to ensure compliance with all Provincial, Federal and customer requirements.

    Make arrangements with haulers and with the GFL facilities and other 3rd parties to appropriately transport and process materials.


    As technical advisor within the organization, provide consultation on best known practices for appropriate disposition of all types of scrap, recycling and waste.

    Assist in customer and/or government audits related to waste management.

    Manage onsite waste vendors and overall trash and recycle program.

    Prepare and present waste diversion data to the customer on a quarterly basis.

    Responsibility i.e., revenue, assets, budgets, number of accounts, expenditures, etc.


    Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:
    Equivalent to a College Diploma in chemical or environmental science or the equivalent in related work experience.

    4+ years of experience preferably in the waste recycling industry.

    Familiarity with Ontario Regulation 347, WHMIS and Transport of Dangerous Goods regulations is an asset.

    Experience working with transportation of waste documentation.

    Good working knowledge of

    Microsoft Office:
    Word, Excel, Access and shipping/inventory computer systems.


    Professional approach with the ability to identify and understand customer needs; takes appropriate actions to ensure customer needs are met and proactively searches of ways to increase customer satisfaction.


    Participate effectively in a team environment; actively listen, confront issues and provide feedback to others on the team as well as internal and external customers, in a courteous and timely manner.
