Description

Responsibilities:

  • Report directly to the Head Chef
  • Oversee all aspects of the CAFE kitchen production and food preparation process
  • Create and develop new items that align with the cafe/restaurant's concept and target audience
  • Manage food inventory and ensure proper stock levels
  • Train and supervise cafe kitchen staff, including, cooks, and other kitchen workers
  • Ensure that all food is prepared in accordance with food safety standards and regulations
  • Collaborate with the restaurant/cafe management team to plan and execute special events or promotions
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
  • Monitor food quality and presentation to ensure consistency and customer satisfaction
  • Stay uptodate with industry trends and new culinary techniques
  • Work closely with the General Manager to achieve goals and exceed targets.
  • Along with the General Manager you are responsible for fostering and maintaining a positive, inclusive work culture.

Experience:


  • Previous cafe/bakery experience in the food industry
  • Strong knowledge of bakery/restaurant operations, including kitchen procedures, food handling, and safety protocols
- strong knowledge in pastry and baking

  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team of kitchen staff
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

Skills:

- baking, breads, pastry, puff pastry

  • Food industry knowledge and understanding of current culinary trends
  • Leadership abilities to effectively manage a team of kitchen staff
  • Restaurant management skills to oversee daily operations in the kitchen
  • Proficiency in various cooking techniques and food preparation methods
  • Experience supervising kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and productivity
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for handling food
  • Strong attention to detail to maintain high standards of quality in food preparation and presentation
  • Coaching and communication

Pay:
$23.00-$27.00 per hour

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Morning shift
  • Weekends as needed

Supplemental pay types:

  • Bonus pay
