Please Note:

This position requires frequent travel within the Central region.

Also, the position is based out of 159 Sir Williams Hearst Avenue North York, ON M3M 1J8 and no other office location will be considered for in-person office days.

What can I expect to do in this role?: Reporting to the Manager, Highway Operations, you will:

  • Manage and coordinate the activities of the Corridor Management section
  • Provide leadership to deliver the regional corridor management functions and activities.
  • Provide expert land use planning and engineering support and advice on issues related to Corridor Management to regional senior management.

How do I qualify?:


Mandatory:


  • You must be licensed by the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO).

Leadership and Management Skills:


  • You possess strategic leadership and management skills that enable you to provide guidance to a diverse, multidisciplinary team and effectively schedule work based on corporate and divisional priorities.
  • You demonstrate a strong commitment to developing, building, and leading organizational capacity through inclusive, positive, and valuesbased leadership. This includes expertise in areas such as organizational design, recruitment, talent and performance management, and labor relations.
  • You have the ability to ensure overall compliance with legislative statutes, collective agreements, government and ministry policies, directives, guidelines, and servicerelated commitments.
  • Your sound judgment and political acuity skills enable you to provide authoritative advice and guidance to senior management.
  • You demonstrate effective management techniques in overseeing the review, analysis, and approval of regional building and land use, encroachment, signs, and permits.
  • You have demonstrated the
    leadership behaviors, attributes and mindsets to lead the Ontario Public Service into the future.

Technical Knowledge:


  • You possess advanced knowledge of the theories, principles, and practices of civil engineering, with a particular focus on transportation planning, corridor management, and highway design.
  • You have a comprehensive understanding of relevant acts and regulations, such as the Public Transportation and Highway Improvement Act, Drainage Act, Planning Act, Environmental Assessment Act, and Highway Traffic Act.


Your ability to identify deficiencies in corridor management projects and establish frameworks for creating new business opportunities to finance highway operations is commendable.


  • You have the capacity to acquire knowledge of land use planning methodologies and provincial and municipallevel transportation planning.
