General Labourer - Vancouver, BC

The terminal operates on a continuous 24-hour basis with morning, afternoon and graveyard shifts. The general schedule block rotation for the terminal is 6 days on, 3 days off.


Key responsibilities:

Coordinating General Labourer duties with Operations Supervisor(s) through effective communications
Operate all equipment in a safe efficient way according to company policies and procedures
Accountable for the safe operation of equipment by ensuring safe work practices and standards are adhered to
Reports and follows-up any maintenance requirements to the appropriate departments
Load grain trucks

Keep facility and site clean, tidy and free of fire and other safety hazards while working within the Employee Health & Safety guidelines.

Follow ISO standards and procedures
Other related duties as assigned.


Knowledge and Skills:

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Proven ability to adhere to and maintain workplace health and safety initiatives
Valid Class 5 driver's license is preferred
Basic understanding of the Canadian Grain Industry would be considered an asset.


Education and Qualifications:

Equivalent combinations of education and experience that result in the required level of knowledge skill and competence will be considered
Related forklift, skid-steer or loader experience is considered an asset
Ability to plan, organize, and communicate (both written and oral), with team members and management
Must have demonstrated initiative, leadership, and diplomacy and the ability to contribute to the efficient operation of the terminal operation
Valid first aid ticket (Level 2 or higher) is considered an asset.


Compensation:

AGT offers competitive wages starting at $41.50 an hour

(AGT) is a Canadian owned export grain terminal located on the south shore of the Burrard Inlet in the scenic Port of Vancouver.

The facility has an annual capacity of 4.8 million metric tonnes and provides terminal services for the movement of Canadian agricultural products from rail to vessel.
