Clip 'n Climb Saskatoon is a locally-owned, independent family-friendly climbing gym. We offer drop-in climbing options as well as field trips for schools, birthday parties, and private rental options.

All of our walls use auto-belays, making it easy for everyone to join in, no matter their age, experience or fitness level.

As a Junior Instructor, you will work as part of a team of 2-5 Instructors and Senior Instructors, alongside 1-2 Receptionists


Duties include:

  • Giving safety briefings to groups of up to 35 climbers, showing them how to use the climbing equipment and belay system;
  • Monitoring clients while in the climbing arena, making sure everybody stays safe and has a great time, and giving advice and encouragement to clients as needed;
  • Assisting clients in a prompt and efficient manner whenever required;
  • Assisting with reception duties as needed (answering phone, signing clients in/out, helping with bookings);
  • Performing regular safety checks on the equipment and assisting with equipment maintenance as needed;
  • Helping keep the facility clean and tidy before, during and after climbing hours.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Be a great communicator, comfortable speaking in front of large groups and able to call the attention of a group or of individuals to themselves in a prompt and friendly manner;
  • Present themselves in a friendly, professional manner;
  • Be able to be active and on their feet for several hours at a time;
  • Be comfortable working at heights (up to 30');
  • Have great attention to detail and superior work ethic;
  • Be highly reliable, able to work independently and as part of a team.


Experience working with groups of varying ages (including children and adults) and/or leading fitness or recreation activities is an asset.

Advanced climbing skills and experience are an asset but are not required for this position.

Part-time or full-time positions available.

MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK SATURDAYS AND/OR SUNDAYS, and must be available during the day (9-5pm) on at least 2 weekdays per week.

Schedule may vary from week to week but days off will be kept regular.

Posted salary is the starting salary, and is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Salary will increase after satisfactory 3-month probation period.
