    Summary:

    AGAT Laboratories is currently hiring for a Petrographer. The Petrographer will be responsible for studying rock samples to determine their composition, structure, and other characteristics. You will play a critical role in helping our clients understand the geological properties of their reservoirs and make informed decisions about exploration and production activities.

    Duties:
  • Conduct detailed petrographic analysis of rock samples using microscopy and other analytical techniques.
  • Identify and characterize minerals, textures, and other features present in the samples.
  • Interpret petrographic data integration and modeling to understand the depositional environment, diagenetic history, and reservoir quality of the rocks.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate petrographic findings into larger geological models and interpretations.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations summarizing petrographic observations and interpretations.
  • Stay abreast of developments in petrographic techniques, technologies, and methodologies.
  • Meet quality assurance and turn around specifications.
  • Ensure adherence to all AGAT health and safety policies, procedures, guidelines and requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in petrographic analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of geological processes in sedimentary or hard rock petrography.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality and accuracy.
