ASnapshot of Your Day


As the leader of theTurbomachinery department within Core Engineering, your primary objective is deliveryof standardised design solutions and operational support to the business.

Asignificant part of your time will be dedicated to the development and supportof your people, a mix of internal and external staff working towards commongoals.

You'll meet with all of your internal staff at least monthly tounderstand how their work is going, review progress on their developmentobjectives and to help find ways to support them.


For all componentsin the Turbomachinery scope you'll take part in Product Development Processreviews several times a week, in this process you'll be a key signatory onDesign Briefs where you as well as being a Reviewer when work is presented.

Yourfirst line of Integrated Project Team Leaders will rely on you to support themin planning and executing work, you'll use your experience of designengineering to help decide on suitable approaches to meet requirements whilescheduling work based on a thorough assessment of risk.

To guide your teamseffectively you'll monitor their operational effectiveness and support themwhen needed, as well as working with the head of Core Engineering and yourpeers to develop and implement department strategy to improve our ability to providethe business with an efficient design service.


HowYou'll Make an Impact

  • You will work with Product Managers, Procurement andOperations to create and support highperforming Turbomachinery systems thatmeet the needs of the business and integrate well with the product
  • You will develop andmaintain the required level of capability (people, methods, tools, andtechnology) within the Turbomachinery department through performance managementand improvement activities
  • You will develop and manage cost competitiveengineering outsource to enable department capacity meet the required levelsand to absorb variations in demand
  • You will lead technicalaspects of the Integrated Project Teams together with Supply Chain colleaguesto deliver new components, or to transfer existing components, that meetQuality, Cost and Delivery targets
  • You will be a ProductDevelopment Process reviewer for the Turbomachinery department, approvingdesigns created by the department

What You Bring

  • You have a Bachelor's orMaster's degree in Engineering and are a member or eligible to become member ofthe "l'Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec"
  • You have a strong trackrecord of leading either teams or projects
  • You have at least 5years experience in gas turbine component engineering, with deep knowledge ofat least one discipline and broad knowledge of the field
  • You have experience of beinga part of or leading internationally dispersed project teams, including controlof both intellectual property and technology export
  • You have experience ofworking with manufacturing
  • You are able tocommunicate and exchange ideas effectively and concisely in both French andEnglish
