- Project site specific tasks:
- Convert Long Term mine plan into medium and short-range execution.
- Develop detailed mine designs and schedule/sequences (monthly, daily, weekly mining plans).
- Determine optimal stockpile use and inventory.
- Attend daily coordination meetings with production.
- Develop and optimize drill and blast designs.
- Perform monthly reconciliation of grade / tonnes.
- Complete monthly mine production reporting and comparisons to budget.
- Aid with manpower and equipment planning.
- Develop waste dump schedules and dumping plans.
- General tasks:
- Provide mining engineering and design services for underground and open pit mine studies, such as scoping, prefeasibility, feasibility, detailed design, and NI technical reports.
- Prepare mining equipment specifications and assist with mining equipment procurement.
- Prepare technical specifications based on input received from other disciplines.
- Prepare and contribute to technical memos and reports, within areas of expertise.
- Prepare mining CAPEX and OPEX cost estimates.
- Design mine infrastructures, ventilation systems, backfill systems and mining services.
- Self-reliant and easily adaptable to change.
- Creative and innovative in providing solutions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to make quality decisions.
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in Mining Engineering (or related discipline).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in open pit or other mining projects.
- Ability to communicate with colleagues and clients in a professional and technical manner.
- Excellent written and spoken communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to oversee long term mining plan.
- Ability to optimize operational practices.
