    Quarry Engineer

    This is an excellent opportunity to join an international company with potential for long-term growth. Located in rural central eastern Ontario in a Safety Conscious Organization.

    Skills & Experience:

  • Project site specific tasks:
  • Convert Long Term mine plan into medium and short-range execution.
  • Develop detailed mine designs and schedule/sequences (monthly, daily, weekly mining plans).
  • Determine optimal stockpile use and inventory.
  • Attend daily coordination meetings with production.
  • Develop and optimize drill and blast designs.
  • Perform monthly reconciliation of grade / tonnes.
  • Complete monthly mine production reporting and comparisons to budget.
  • Aid with manpower and equipment planning.
  • Develop waste dump schedules and dumping plans.
  • General tasks:
  • Provide mining engineering and design services for underground and open pit mine studies, such as scoping, prefeasibility, feasibility, detailed design, and NI technical reports.
  • Prepare mining equipment specifications and assist with mining equipment procurement.
  • Prepare technical specifications based on input received from other disciplines.
  • Prepare and contribute to technical memos and reports, within areas of expertise.
  • Prepare mining CAPEX and OPEX cost estimates.
  • Design mine infrastructures, ventilation systems, backfill systems and mining services.
  • Self-reliant and easily adaptable to change.
  • Creative and innovative in providing solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to make quality decisions.
  • Experience Requirements:

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in Mining Engineering (or related discipline).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in open pit or other mining projects.
  • Ability to communicate with colleagues and clients in a professional and technical manner.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to oversee long term mining plan.
  • Ability to optimize operational practices.
