Collingwood Nursing Home, located in Collingwood, Ontario is a 60-bed long-term care home dedicated to enriching the lives of our residents in partnership with UniversalCare, our family members, valued employees and community partners.

Our team is currently hiring for a permanent full-time Ward Clerk.

Reporting to the Director of Care, the Ward Clerk position is a critical role that provides direct administrative services and support to the Nursing Team.


As part of our team, your role as a Ward Clerk contributes to our resident experiences in the following ways:

  • Performs all assigned clerical tasks associated with the day-to-day operation of the nursing department including writing, editing and formatting of documents, filing, mail sorting and delivery, photocopying and maintenance of resident and employee information, etc.
  • Assists with the assignment of shifts on a daily basis and schedules replacement staff as required.
  • Assists with the preparation of payroll for the nursing department and maintenance of payroll records.
  • Purchases, receives, controls and delivers office and resident care supplies as appropriate.
  • Schedules tours, care conferences and Committee meetings as directed by the Nursing leadership team.
  • Works in accordance with the organization's Health and Safety Policies and Procedures and in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You Need:


  • Secondary school graduate or equivalent education.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to multitask and detail oriented.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Power Point and Outlook.
  • Minimum of one year experience in scheduling.
  • Must posses excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector check.
  • All applicants must provide proof of being fully vaccinated, except due to legitimate established exceptions.
  • Have a passion to work with the senior population.
