Job description
Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Patient Care Manager, the Nurse Practitioner, Neurological Rehabilitation, will focus on the provision of expert clinical care in managing the health needs of individuals.
In collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, the NP provides direct patient care using advanced assessment skills, knowledge of disease pathology, pharmacology, therapeutic skill, intervention management and referrals.
Description:
As a Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will provide a full range of comprehensive health services to individuals across their lifespan.
You will be responsible for integrating clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures to manage and meet the health needs of patients.
Additionally, you will utilize advanced practice nursing competencies related to Clinical Practice, Leadership and Optimizing Health Systems, Education, and Research to increase care quality, promote appropriate use of health services, and inform and influence healthcare systems.

Required Qualifications:
Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program, with a minimum of a Master's degree.
Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) on the Nurse Practitioner Registrar, including Provisional Graduate Nurse Practitioner licensure.
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).Additional
Required Qualifications:
A minimum of 3 years recent medical/surgical clinical nursing or Nurse Practitioner experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Relevant experience in Neurological Rehabilitation. Current Heart and Stroke Foundation certification in ACLS preferred.
