![Default job background](https://contents.bebee.com/public/img/bg-user-ex-1.jpg)
Description
Position Summary :AF 105 is a first-year course designed to provide incoming Arts students with the tools necessary to successfully transition from high school to university. This course offers a high-impact teaching practice meant to guide students through a deep understanding of how four primary academic pillars (reading, writing, research, oral presentation) are different in a university learning environment, as compared to the work completed in high school. In addition to developing this awareness, the course will subsequently provide students with the tools to successfully execute these core competencies that will lay the foundation for success in subsequent courses. Embedded within this academic skill development will be course components provided to support the holistic development of these students, helping them to establish habits that will set them up for success outside the classroom as well. A course outline and methods of evaluation have been established for this course, to ensure consistency across all sections. The incumbent will be required to create lessons focusing on academic skills development rather than on building discipline-specific skills.
Qualifications – Required: Master's Degree (MA)
Qualifications – Discipline: Humanities, Social Sciences or Education
Qualifications – Other: Preference will be given to those applicants who submit a teaching dossier with evidence of training and/or teaching experience in core academic competencies (reading, writing, research, oral presentation).
Salary: $ subject to CA article 25.2)
Application Deadline: June 14, 2024
