    Description

    About Robin College

Established in 1998, Robin College was founded with a singular vision: to bridge the gap between education and employment in Alberta's dynamic industries. Our founders, a group of seasoned professionals, recognized a growing need for practical, hands-on training that traditional institutions weren't offering. They started with a single program in business administration, taught in a modest downtown Edmonton campus, focusing on small class sizes and direct mentorship from industry experts. This approach quickly earned Robin College a reputation for producing graduates who were not just qualified, but truly job-ready.

Over the last two decades, Robin College has evolved alongside Alberta's economy. We expanded our program offerings to include high-demand fields such as health care, technology, and skilled trades, always maintaining our commitment to experiential learning. We've embraced innovation, integrating cutting-edge technology into our classrooms and labs, and fostering strong partnerships with local employers to ensure our curriculum remains relevant and responsive. Now under new ownership, Robin College is poised for its next chapter of growth, dedicated to honouring its legacy of student-centric, career-focused education while exploring new frontiers in post-secondary training.

The Opportunity: Student Aid and Campus Visit Coordinator

Robin College is looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Student Aid and Campus Visit Coordinator to join our student services team. This is a vital, dual-focus role perfect for an individual who is passionate about helping students achieve their educational goals and enjoys being the welcoming face of our institution. You will be the primary point of contact for students seeking financial guidance and for prospective students wishing to experience our campus firsthand.

One day you might be guiding a student through their Alberta Student Aid application, and the next you could be leading an engaging campus tour for a group of future learners. The ideal candidate is empathetic, organized, and possesses outstanding communication skills. If you thrive on making a direct, positive impact and enjoy a varied and dynamic workday, this role is for you.

    Key Responsibilities

    Student Aid & Financial Advising:

    • Act as the primary Financial Aid Officer for the college, providing accurate and confidential advice to students on funding options, including Alberta and Canada Student Loans, grants, and other financial resources.
    • Assist students with the entire student aid application process, from initial inquiry to disbursement of funds, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all documentation.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of provincial and federal student aid policies and procedures.
    • Liaise with provincial funding bodies to resolve student application issues and ensure compliance.
    • Conduct financial literacy workshops for students on topics such as budgeting and loan repayment.

    Campus Visits & Recruitment Support:

    • Coordinate and lead all individual and group campus tours, creating a welcoming, informative, and positive experience for prospective students, parents, and school counsellors.
    • Manage the campus visit schedule, responding promptly to tour requests received via phone, email, and web forms.
    • Prepare customized information packages for campus visitors.
    • Assist the Admissions team at recruitment events, such as open houses and education fairs.
    • Maintain a database of prospective students and track campus visit statistics to inform recruitment strategies.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • A diploma or degree in Business, Communications, Education, or a related field.
    • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a student services, admissions, or financial aid role within a post-secondary institution. Direct experience as a Financial Aid Officer is a significant asset.
    • Strong working knowledge of the Alberta Student Aid and Canada Student Financial Assistance programs.
    • Exceptional interpersonal and public speaking skills, with the ability to connect with diverse groups of people.
    • Highly organized with a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable learning new student information systems.
    • A positive, student-first attitude and a genuine desire to help others succeed.
