How You Will Make an Impact


Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, you will be responsible for the continuous development and maintenance of the volunteer program, including but not limited to a variety of tasks including recruitment, screening, interviewing, orientation, training and supervision of the selected volunteers.

You will recruitment strategies for both targeted and general recruitment and assess the suitability of each volunteer.

The Manager of Volunteers also handles administrative details associated with the volunteers, including entering and updating of information in the database and helps support special projects to enhance efficiency within the Volunteer Department.


In addition, they would be required to raise public awareness regarding the use of volunteers and services provided by the Good Shepherd.


What You'll Bring to Our Team

  • Certification in Volunteer Management; post secondary education in a related field
  • At least 25 years' experience in a similar capacity
  • A demonstrated commitment to the values of Hospitality, Quality, Adaptability, Responsibility, Availability and Dignity.
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills, a high level of verbal and written communication skills, advanced technical skills working with databases and media
  • Demonstrated experience in developing recruitment and event materials
  • Proven leadership ability, knowledge and experience to work independently taking responsibility for programs, and experience working within a team for special projects and events.
  • Organized and able to manage competing tasks and a variety of events
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
  • Fluency in a second language is considered an asset. Driver's license and access to a vehicle is also required.
