    The Chateau Lake Louise is in search of a dynamic Sommelier to elevate our iconic dining experiences at Fairview Bar & Restaurant and the Walliser Stube. This role is tailored for an ambitious individual with a passion for excellence, poised to cultivate our hotel's Food & Beverage operations and position our restaurants as the ultimate dining destinations. Collaborating closely with department heads, you will curate and manage the wine selection across our five distinguished restaurants, in-room dining services, Guide's Pantry, and Banquet department. Central to this role is the growth and maintenance of our esteemed "Best of Award of Excellence – Wine Spectator" Master wine list, boasting over 500 meticulously selected labels.     What you will be doing:

    • Offer professional, friendly and engaging service to guests and colleagues
    • Develop and enhance Fairmont service standards through disciplined administration of departmental procedures
    • Maintain effective working relationships and clear communication with colleagues and leaders in the restaurant and other departments
    • Lead a team in all aspects of the outlet's operations and ensure service standards are followed
    • Respond to guest concerns in a professional and timely manner
    • Assist in recruiting, on boarding and training employees
    • Inspire the ongoing professional development, performance, growth and satisfaction of all team members
    • Work with the kitchen, stewarding and all leaders to promote teamwork as a strong component of the daily service culture
    • Assist with staff scheduling to ensure appropriate allocation of resources
    • Ensure that the outlet maintains a first class, positive visual impact including ambience, cleanliness, décor, and service flow
    • Ensure a clean and safe working environment, and actively participate in health and safety initiatives
    • Adhere to all hotel environmental policies and initiatives
    • Carry out any other tasks as assigned
    • Elevate guest experiences by spearheading wine sales and service across all outlets, ensuring a captivating dining journey and boosting revenues.
    • Champion unparalleled service and quality standards in wine offerings and maintain the master wine list, upholding our Best of Award of Excellence rating.
    • Collaborate on Food & Beverage promotions with a focus on curated wine selections, organizing captivating wine seminars and tastings.
    • Empower staff through comprehensive training on wine service excellence, ensuring seamless communication and fostering passion for wine.
    • Own the wine inventory process, engage in supplier tastings, and proactively enhance wine-related operations and innovation.
    • Embrace additional responsibilities as needed for flawless beverage service and unforgettable guest experiences, including Research & Development to shape monthly menus with captivating wine selections and pairings while upholding impeccable cleanliness and ambiance.
    Qualifications
    • Sommelier credentials a very strong asset. I.S.G. Preferred
    • 1 year supervisory experience in a hotel restaurant is an asset (four diamond hotel)
    • Previous F&B leadership experience required
    • Working knowledge of point of sale systems (ideally Silverware), and Microsoft Office
    • Possession of a degree or diploma in a related discipline preferred
    • Self‐motivated, with the ability to make effective decisions
    • Demonstrates initiative, and the ability to multitask and work with minimal supervision
    • Ability to maintain high service levels under pressure
    • Physically fit to lift trays repeatedly, stand and walk for the duration of the shift
