    Job Purpose

Snowbird Aviation has opportunities as a Ground Service Attendant within Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

    Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist flight crews and customers requiring assistance to enplane/deplane.
  • Safely and efficiently operate and maintain ground support vehicles and equipment required to service aircraft.
  • Perform custodial duties in and around all company managed facilities e.g., recycling, garbage, cleaning hangars and maintaining grounds.
  • Marshall, de-ice and anti-ice aircraft.
  • Groom and detail aircraft interiors/exteriors as required.
  • Handle baggage and cargo, load, and unload aircraft.
  • General Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain knowledge of the company's vision, mission, and values.
  • Ground service attendants will be cross-trained with customer service attendants, detailers, and cargo agents, where applicable, to provide those duties/coverage when necessary.
  • Safety responsibilities as outlined in the Safety Management System (SMS) manual.
  • Carry out duties in accordance with health, safety and environment legislation and regulations.
  • Qualifications

    Typically, the knowledge and skills required for this position include a high school diploma, with one to two years' progressive customer service experience. Previous work experience or training in aviation is considered an asset. A combination of education and experience may be considered.

    Skills, knowledge, and abilities include:

  • Demonstrated experience in serving a diverse and complex customer base.
  • Professional judgement and well-defined conflict resolution skills in handling sensitive situations with tact, diplomacy, and high ethical standards.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to organize, multi-task and prioritize.
  • Able and willing to work on modified schedules, including early mornings, late nights, and holidays.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Provincial driver's license, Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC) and an Airside Vehicle Operators Permit (AVOP) where required at a base.
  • Complete WHIMS and Dangerous Goods Awareness Training.
  • Equipment Used

  • Ground power unit, lavatory cart.
  • Tractor tug and related ground handling equipment.
  • Forklift, de-icing equipment, aircraft fuelling equipment, radio base unit.
  • Typical Physical and Cognitive Demands

  • Required to be on call for evening and weekend shifts and may be required to respond to callouts as required.
  • Able to work long and sometimes irregular hours under different weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift 70 pounds and to handle customer luggage and freight.
  • Able to safely move and provide varied ground services to aircraft and equipment.
  • Able to work on elevated work platforms.
  • Ground and/or air travel required.
