Manager, Enterprise Architecture:


Position Purpose

Key Accountabilities / Position Outcomes

  • Develop and maintain policies, processes, architectures, frameworks, roadmaps, and standards that align with and help deliver IT and business strategic goals, business priorities and complies with technical and industry/regulatory standards for each area of interest.
  • Escalate and provide alternatives to potential noncompliance issues.
  • Assess emerging industry trends and anticipate and develop potential strategic IT technology/integration solutions to exploit for business benefit.
  • Define highlevel transition architecture to address gaps between current and future state.
  • Working with other teams within IT to develop a reference architecture (Integration Framework) for data integration style.
  • Ensure integration solutions that fit within the enterprise's larger data integration strategy
  • Interacting with the infrastructure team to meet requirements for volume and performance.
  • Working with the IT development team and consultants to ensure all integration solutions meet data delivery and quality SLAs.
  • Develop data governance, standards and policies to ensure architecture compliance
  • Embed IT security and compliance requirements in Architecture standards, working with IT Security and Compliance groups.
  • Follows all policies, procedures and standards of the CRD.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications

  • A university degree in Computer Science or related plus 5 years of relevant experience specific to the design, implementation, and project management experience in the delivery of complex IT systems.
  • Enterprise Architect Certification in The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) Zachman Framework is preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Must possess a valid BC Driver's License

Role-specific Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Extensive experience working with ERP Systems (SAP) for business process management.
  • Experience developing and implementing governance that supports a data strategy.
  • Experience different cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and providers (i.e., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Knowledge of cloud architecture, scalability, security, and migration strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience developing master and enterprise data models.
  • Knowledge of Big Data and Analytics: Awareness of technologies for handling and analyzing large volumes of data, such as Amazon Redshift, Hadoop, Apache Spark, NoSQL databases, and data visualization tools.
  • Knowledge of data governance, data lakes, and data warehousing is valuable.
  • Gather data requirements and lead/direct data gathering exercises and quickly understand data processes, based on system and schema review.
  • Create requisite data deliverables (e.g. Entity Relationships, dimensional models, reference data models)
  • Identify process triggers, gaps, improvement opportunities, and strategic resolution for resolving data quality issues as well as process gaps
  • Lead the development of functional or technical requirements documentation related to enterprise data alignment, conceptual data models, dataquality improvement
  • Assist with managing project scope, schedule, status, and documentation
  • Deep technical understanding or previous working experience in any of the following disciplines: Master Data Management, Enterprise Data Management, Enterprise Data Modelling, Data Engineering, Data Architecture
  • Experience working with data visualization and data modeling tools, and extensive experience analyzing data using SQL or other tools.
  • Extensive experience with SDLC methodologies and supporting tools.
  • Experience delivering large, complex implementations from inception to golive.
  • Experience and demonstrated ability to program in various languages, C#, VBA, ABAP, Java
  • Extensive experience with various operating systems i.e. Microsoft, Linux
  • Extensive experience working with networking protocols (LAN, WAN, Internetbased).
  • Knowledge and experience with business process management [BPM] and serviceoriented architecture [SOA] technologies.
  • Understanding of mobile app development frameworks (iOS, Android), responsive web design, web development technologies (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript), and crossplatform development tools.
  • Extensive Experience with network security, encryption, access controls, identity, and access management (IAM), 2FA, SAML, and security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
  • Knowledge of in GIS software platforms such as ESRI ArcGIS, QGIS, or MapInfo. Knowledge of their capabilities, data formats, spatial analysis tools, and cartographic representation.
  • Familiarity with various geospatial data formats, including shapefiles (SHP), GeoJSON, KML/KMZ, GeoTIFF, and WMS/WFS (Web Map Service/Web Feature Servic
