    A top trading firm is looking for an Application Support Specialist to join their team in Montreal. In this role, you'll be supporting key internal systems used in a fast‑paced trading environment. Your work will span technical troubleshooting, deploying and configuring software, and keeping critical applications running smoothly. You'll collaborate closely with developers, traders, and other technical teams while handling a wide range of issues that require quick thinking and solid engineering judgment.

    What you'll need to succeed:

    • Around 2-3 years of experience in an application or production support position
    • An understanding of networking concepts such as routing, TCP, and multicast
    • Basic familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash)
    • Comfort working in Linux and/or Windows operating systems
    • Strong analytical ability and a talent for diagnosing complex issues
    • A service-oriented mindset with a sense of urgency
    • The ability to learn new technologies quickly and stay curious
    • Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Steady performance under pressure and tight time constraints
    • Strong organizational habits, with an ability to prioritize effectively
    • Willingness to work rotating shifts that may include early mornings or overnight hours

    Nice-to-have experience:

    • Exposure to financial markets or trading systems
    • Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef)
    • Experience working with container technologies such as Docker
    • Comfort using monitoring and log‑analysis tools like Grafana, Splunk, or Kibana

    Typical responsibilities:

    • Delivering dependable production support, including deployments, configuration updates, and continuous system monitoring to catch issues early
    • Supporting proprietary trading platforms across diverse environments
    • Troubleshooting urgent problems during trading hours to keep essential applications functioning
    • Working with traders and research teams to understand and evaluate trading strategies
