***: Our company is growing rapidly and is hiring for broadband expansion. We are looking for an individual with 10 plus years of experience in the Fiber Optic broadband network installation, including fusion splicing. We are looking for a highly analytical Superintendent to oversee the installation, splicing and maintenance of Fiber Optics systems and equipment. Fiber Optics Superintendents' responsibilities include managing and developing the manpower and equipment resources required to efficiently deliver our services to the telecommunications industry. You should also deliver solid contributions to the development of the organization's procedures& safe work practices.

The Superintendent will monitor the performance of their subordinate team members in their daily activities.

They should have the ability to delegate tasks and provide training to new employees, providing training on new Fiber Optic installation.


We're looking at motivated individuals with

  • 10 plus years in Fiber Optics/broadband installation experience
  • A proven record of successfully completing projects start to finish
  • Ability to assist with expanding our broadband team by recruiting and developing talented installation and splicing technicians
  • The ability to directly be responsible to lead 25 to 100 employees
  • Have the capabilities to manage and coordinate trade work equipment and use of material on site to accomplish all activities safely
  • Experience with reading drawings/maps, updating drawings/maps
  • Unit work record keeping
  • Ensure compliance with drawing standards and quality of work
  • Perfect ability to communicate orally in person or writing and by telephone in a clear
  • Provide strong leadership and guidance to all field staff
  • Prior experience as a Fiber Optics Superintendent.
  • Knowledge of networking equipment.
  • Installing Fiber Optic systems.
  • Experience with Fibre Opting fusion splicing would be an asset
  • Ensures the achievement of assigned goals and the fulfillment of the project quality requirements and the contractual obligations.
  • Monitors and reports actual progress / check for Discipline activities, including control of menhours and delivered documents; particular care is required for subcontracted activities (System and Telecom)
  • Provides technical support to Project group.
  • Reports to the Project staff and to the Client whenever required.
  • Superintendents identify and assess the requirements and issues of current Fiber Optics' systems, such as interference and clarity, to come up with the most suitable ways of cutting down, removing, and preventing existing and future issues and improving communications.
  • Finally, Superintendents assist the Project Manager effectively plan work activities, monitor schedule and budget.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Trade designation as a Power Line Technician, Cable Installation Technician or Fibre Optic Splicer
  • Fluent in English (speaking and writing).
  • An Asset would be Fluent in French (speaking and writing).
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in multicultural environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple teams/crews.
  • Prior experience as a Fiber Optics Superintendent or Foreman 510 Years.
  • Knowledge of networking equipment
  • Multitasking skills.
  • The ability to work away from home in remote locations
  • Clear Abstract with Valid Driving License

Job Types:

Salary:
$85,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
