Health Commons Solutions Lab, based at Sinai Health System, was launched in 2017 in partnership with the Toronto Central Local Health Integration Network (now Ontario Health, Toronto Region), Ontario Ministry of Health, and other key local partners.

Health Commons is identifying creative solutions to complex problems that require focused collaboration from health and social sectors. We are a team of creative and driven professionals from health, social, public health and design sectors.

We bring together experts to design and test new solutions, then work with service providers and funders to deploy and scale those solutions to meet population needs.

Health Commons is seeking an experienced
Project Manager to support a number of cross-cutting projects.


Supporting Senior Project Leads and working closely with Health Commons leadership, the
Project Manager will support the design, planning, implementation and ongoing improvement of health system initiatives that address the needs of priority populations.

Key areas of focus for the
Project Manager include:

planning and coordinating engagements with health and social service partners, community agencies and others; tracking and managing projects towards defined milestones; and supporting research, planning, and development of project deliverables.

Responsibilities include:

Project Planning and Execution

  • Play a supporting role in all phases of project development at the Lab, including initial scoping, research, design, planning, implementation and evaluation
  • Working with Senior Project Leads in advancing assigned projects to achieve key milestones and yearend targets
  • Monitor and report on project status to Senior Project Leads and Lab Leadership as necessary
  • Serve as operational liaison with partners for project activities including stakeholder engagements and preparation of deliverables
Stakeholder Relationship Development and Engagement

  • Coordinate communications and engagement strategies with key project partners and stakeholders
  • Establish working relationships across a broad range of service partners and community leaders
  • Conducting needs assessment and codesigning interventions with priority populations and communities
Product Development

  • Support management, analysis, and synthesis of quantitative and qualitative data
  • Support written and oral communication of projectrelated outcomes and deliverables
  • Integrate feedback from Senior Project Leads and Leadership into product development and ensure high quality of outputs


  • Job Requirements

  • Successful completion of a Master's degree or equivalent combination of education, skills and experience, from health or nonhealth sectors
  • 35 years of experience in areas such as project management, communitybased research, program development and implementation.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex, multistakeholder projects
  • Working knowledge of project management best practices and ability to adapt methods and tools as required
  • Understanding of planning approaches that could be used to incorporate local issues, priorities and needs while reflecting broader trends in system policy.
  • Strong understanding of stakeholder engagement approaches that address the priorities of multiple organizations, community providers and planners, and the proven ability to network and bring partners together.
  • Excellent relationship building skills; professional, diplomatic and confident with a proven ability to work with individuals across all levels of the organization and external stakeholders.
