The Associate will work for the Global Financial Institutions Group - Insurance Team, which has a global platform with a growing and dynamic presence in the U.S.

Portfolio Management Support

  • Participate in FIG deal teams to develop, present and win mandates for new opportunities.
  • Create pitch books for clients with respect to financial solutions and participate in their presentation to clients.
  • Actively participate in decision making with product partners for new client sales.
  • Understand the needs of clients and utilize financial analysis to proactively identify crosssell opportunities.
  • Support the FIG Relationship Managers on portfolio management needs for the business.
  • Build effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.

Credit Risk and Financial Analyses

  • Research and analyze financial and operating information across FIG verticals with a primary focus on insurance companies.
  • Complete due diligence and credit analysis on new prospects and existing client relationships.
  • Perform Financial Statement analysis utilizing all software associated with credit adjudication.
  • Analyze/assess transactions for structural strengths/weaknesses and industry compilations.
  • Understand complexity of transactions and related risk (credit, market, operational, legal/compliance, etc.).
  • Monitor client, client industry and regulatory agencies for potential changes which may affect client's portfolio and business needs.
  • Maintain internal trigger/compliance monitoring records.
  • Review credit documentation for conformity with approved Credit terms and conditions.
  • Considers risk, internal controls and compliance as part of daytoday accountabilities and adheres to policies and procedures.
  • Provides direction and feedback to Analysts; accountable for development and mentoring of Analysts, where applicable.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree with academic coursework in finance, economics, or accounting with an outstanding academic achievement.
  • Relevant experience in similar roles preferred, 35 years
  • Credit analysis training and experience. Will provide FIGspecific training.
  • Understanding of organizational lending and portfolio management policies and objectives.
  • Some knowledge of Capital Market products

  • Excellent analytical skills including business, financial and credit analysis areas.
  • Demonstrates solid deal/transaction execution and/or project management skills.
  • Technical proficiency gained through education and/or business experience.
  • Able to work independently on a range of complex tasks, which may include unique situations
  • Exceptional collaboration & team skills.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
