- Responds to requests for diagnosis and resolution of temperature and/or ventilation problems
- Performs routine and preventative maintenance, including various air balancing procedures, as required
- Performs various air quality tests, as required
- Performs various general mechanical procedures
- Provides technical advice to the supervisor and manager in the repair, modification and efficient maintenance of air handling units and related equipment
- Work in compliance of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and its regulations, reporting hazards, deficiencies and contraventions of the Act, in a timely manner
- Perform cross-functional duties as assigned and/or required
- Perform other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned and/or required
Qualifications
- At minimum completion of high school plus HVAC courses and programs offered by manufacturers, etc. or recognized equivalent required
- 4 to 5 years practical and related experience and/or 6 months to 9 months on the job training required
- Ability to read and interpret industry-related blueprints, schematic/structural drawings and manuals.
- Ability to operate and repair or calibrate a range of machinery/equipment of varying complexity.
- Exercise initiative and good judgement with ability to multi-task
- Theory of HVAC systems
- Materials, methods and tools used in the operation and repair of HVAC systems.
- Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance to UHN standards.
