- Contract – 35 hours per week for 8 weeks (July 2 to August 23, 2024)
- Plan and lead the daily themed artistic and creative hands-on components of the day camp experience
- Coordinate and lead various group or individual projects and activities with the campers (art, music, science, technology)
- Provide open ended activities for the early arrivers at camp each morning
- Assist with recreational programming at local parks
- Clean up and set up of activities both indoor and outdoor
- Encourage campers to participate wholeheartedly whenever possible
- Assist with the registration process
- Follow daily program schedule
- Purchase and preparation of supplies
- Managing the indoor / outdoor environment to assure appropriate health and safety requirements are met
- Interaction with parents, coaching children, and communication with teammates is required throughout
- Dealing with behavioural concerns of children and youth if they arise during program participation at day camp in conjunction with the Program Coordinator
- Participate in staff debriefing meetings
- The successful job applicant will need to be between 15-30 years old and eligible to work in Canada, as the job is contingent upon Canada Summer Jobs program funding
- First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain
- Experience working with children, knowledge of child development and ways to engaging neurodiverse learners in a range of activities and environments.

- Character – setting a good example for the campers with traits such as honesty, initiative, using time wisely and taking responsibility for the completion of tasks.

- A clear vulnerable sector screening
- Completion of our online Praesidium Abuse Training and required Health and Safety training

Work cooperatively as Summer Students with the staff of The Willows Family Life Centre to promote holistic care for families within the Langley community. Engage with program participants in ways that represent our values of dignity, service, stewardship, and hope. Design, plan, promote, and implement a summer day camp enrichment program at the Willows Family Life Centre. Seven different Day Camp weeks will include specialized programming for kindergarten children, elementary children, and youth. Build relationships with and provide competent supervision to at-risk and neurodivergent children & youth, collaborating with our other staff and volunteers to make our camp a positive and inclusive experience.
