The role:


The Counter Manager fills the role of driving sales for his or her counter through the coaching of the Beauty Advisors coaching and development.

In partnership with the Business Manager, the Counter Manager executes the specific sales goals and strategies that lead to the achievement of the retailer and Clarins' counter sales objectives.

Emphasis is placed on basis day to day business and special events in conjunction with the marketing calendar.

Developing Beauty Advisors

  • Leads and develops counter specific sales plans and initiatives in conjunction with the Business Manager
  • Leads the process of developing the productivity of the counter & spa team.
  • Measures and monitors the individual sales goals per beauty advisor in collaboration with the Business Manager on a daily basis.
  • Provides coaching and training for Beauty Advisors to ensure they are achieving their daily, weekly and monthly goals.
  • Recruits, trains, coaches, motivates and develops new and incumbent beauty advisors on company policies, selling techniques, product knowledge, and personal/counter productivity goals.
  • Identifies Superstar and potential Superstar Performers at the counter.
  • Ensures that all selling tools are being utilized by the beauty advisors and followed up ongoing: Client card files, Recall book, Club Clarins and selling materials.
  • Ensures that each BA is conducting daily skin times (5 per day) with customers in the special allocated spaces for Skin Time.
  • Ensures that the product targets determined by the BM for daily goals, double serum, and new product launches are clearly understood by all BAs in order to achieve sales goals.
  • Ensures that a weekly "Push List" is published for all staff to focus on suggestive selling for lesser performing skus.
Achieves Personal Goals

  • Meets and or exceeds personal productivity sales objectives.
  • Delivers outstanding customer service and serves as a role model for the team.
Counter Merchandising

  • In conjunction with the Business Manager and the Assistant Counter Manager, ensures that the Clarins high merchandising standards are respected on a weekly and monthly basis. This includes all sections of the counter space including the spa room, the videos on the walls, the transparencies and the sampling wall.
  • Establishes a plan for all staff to "own" an assigned section of the counter real estate and ensures that all merchandising policies are respected. Rotates these assigned merchandising "zones" on a regular basis.
Execution of Clarins Marketing Activities and Special Event

  • For Special Events, ensures that the bookings are secured by the beauty advisors and the assistant counter manager.
  • If appointments do not show, ensures that there is an alternative plan to secure the set goals for the event.
  • Determines (in conjunction with the Business Manager) that the demos and the beauty advisor's productivity goals are clearly communicated to the entire staff in order to ensure that the sales objectives are achieved for the event.
Inventory & Returns Control

  • Places a weekly boost on the top 25 items.
  • Liaise with the Business Manager to ensure proper processing of all returns
  • Makes sure that all stock returns, credits, transfers and deliveries are managed efficiently.
  • Manages orders for bulk product for the spa, all selling tools including inventory for Club Clarins cards, prescription cards and all support selling materials.
  • Maintains testers and samples within allocation.
  • Responsible for the management of the stock rooms and ensures that the stock is tidy and easy to access.
  • Compile outofstock and push lists with the business manager and monitors the sell through progress with each beauty advisor.
Communication

  • Establish a sound communication network between Clarins, store management and counter staff.
Product Knowledge

  • Attend all Clarins training sessions to learn and absorb the latest developments in product knowledge and selling skills.
