We're CAAT Pension Plan, and we're growing. We innovate defined benefit (DB) pension plans. What are they?

(including physical wellness, mental wellness and financial wellness), and provides tools to aid and motivate staff in maintaining a healthy workplace. The role also plays a key part in managing our leave of absence programs, as well as other areas of total rewards (compensation, benefits, paid time off, rewards & recognition, etc.).


This role functions within the People Strategy team, working with the Manager, Total Rewards & Analytics to maintain and create human resource services, policies, programs and resources for the CAAT Pension Plan.


We are looking for someone with the following attributes:

  • College Diploma or University Degree in a related discipline.
  • Human Resources Management degree or diploma, and designation or working toward a CHRP is preferred.
  • Standard First Aid and JHSC certification is an asset.
  • At least two to three years' experience in employee wellness including benefits, compensation and/or human resources field.
  • Requires an above average knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to communicate complex information into understandable information.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate and multitasks to a high degree and work well with minimum direction.
  • Needs strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills and the ability to work with staff at all levels of the organization on a variety of different projects and initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of benefits short term and longterm disability, policies and procedures related to benefits maternity, paternity, leaves, etc.

Employee Wellness

This position is responsible for maintaining an understanding of the trends and best practices in employee well
- being in the workplace and promote employee wellness initiatives through the following:

  • Develop, coordinate, implement, manage, and maintain a total wellness program addressing all aspects of wellness, including, but not limited to physical wellness, mental wellness, and financial wellness to encourage a healthy workplace
  • Research current workplace wellness trends and activities and use data to develop initiatives (including promotion of healthy lifestyles)
  • Create program materials and promotional pieces as needed
  • Research industry best practices in relation to wellness programs and metrics and assess potential opportunities to leverage if applicable to CAAT Pension Plan
  • Recommend initiatives, establish strategic goals, manage and assume risks of programs
  • Keep records and proper documentation of wellness program efforts and results
  • Perform project assessments to follow up and analyse data required to measure success
  • Investigate different ways to personalize activities and programs based on organization and staff needs
  • Analyse workplace ergonomic needs and suggest best practices
  • Propose, manage, and track budgetary expenses for wellness programs and other related initiatives
  • Communicates program goals and outcomes to senior management on a regular basis to ensure full understanding and initiative support
  • Source and maintain relationships with vendors and service providers
  • Lead and participate in wellness promotion committees (Health & Safety, Green & Wellness Committee)
  • Promote the Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP) among staff and track and analyse usage trends and emerging issues
  • Lead weekly wellness breaks for staff and monthly rewards meetings
  • Review and maintain wellness incentive policy and FAQs on an annual basis
  • Approval and signing authority of wellness claims and ergonomic benefits for staff
  • Responsible for annual project planning charters and smartsheets as the SME to be reported to senior management
Rewards and Recognition

  • Leading the employee rewards and recognition program, including quarterly rewards, the Great Job program, the employee referral program, CAAT branded swag
