    Description

    What you'll do:

  • Reporting to the Petroleum Manager, the Petroleum Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting in heavy duty fleet operation, branch location management which includes ensuring costs associated with the operations are executed appropriately from a management capacity.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring corporate performance targets and budgeted results of the Petroleum Department is achieved as directed by the Petroleum Manager.
  • You will actively support and collaborate with the team in smooth functioning of the Petroleum Department.
  • You will oversee the completion and follow through of all safety and environmental policies and procedures and ensure complete adherence to "culture of safety".
  • You will provide leadership and support regarding performance management responsibilities to team leaders and team members as directed by the Petroleum Manager.

    Who you are:

    You are looking for a career in Petroleum and possess:

  • Grade 12 certificate.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's licence and maintain it throughout the employment.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years' of experience in Petroleum/C-Store environment with sales experience in petroleum product offerings including lubricants.
  • Must have financial and computer skills particularly of MS Office Suite with high attention to detail and an ability to control operational costs, maximize operational efficiency and improve sales and growth margin.
  • Must have strong time management skills, the ability to work independently, safety conscious and set goals with measurable outcomes.
  • Must have demonstrated key competencies like: manages complexity, develops talent, directs work, drives engagement, situational adaptability.
  • Must have good verbal, written communication and presentation skills.
  • Must have an experience in problem solving with the ability to set and adjust priorities and schedules as required.
  • Occupational Health and Safety, Level I and II and Supervision & Safety Training, WHMIS, CPR and First Aid or willing to take.
  • You have a well – defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, customer service and people management skills.
  • Post-secondary education from a recognized Institution in Business Administration, Marketing or related commodity training or a related field would be an asset.
  • You are experienced with coaching and providing feedback to other team members.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability and deal with people with confidence, sensitively and professionally at all times.
  • Willing and able to work all shifts scheduled including days, evenings, holidays and weekends.
  • Maintain good physical condition, physically able to do heavy lifting of 50 lbs, climb ladders and kneel.
