Quality Assurance Associate - IT to join our dynamic
Quality Assurance team.


The
Quality Assurance team is responsible for the activities that are put in place to ensure the necessary level of confidence that all our products and services meet operational needs, quality requirements and satisfy all applicable legislative, regulatory, and standard requirements.

The Quality Assurance team at Canadian Blood Services focuses on activities associated with our manufacturing environment and our clinical services environment.


In this role you will be responsible for aiding in the development, implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of the CBS Quality Management System while ensuring that the Safety, Quality, Identity, Purity, Potency, and accessibility requirements of all products and services offered by Canadian Blood Services are met.


As a member of the Quality team, you will ensure that work performed is consistent with the overall strategic direction of the Quality & Regulatory Affairs division and the organization as a whole and is accomplished by working in collaboration with other members of the division and/or other internal stakeholders.


Formula for Success

  • Utilizing your excellent collaboration skills, you will participate in site/group/divisional/corporate initiatives which may include crossfunctional and cross divisional working groups or projects.
  • Leveraging your interpersonal skills, you will develop and maintain strong, effective day to day working relationships with all CBS staff through the provision of guidance or direction to peers with respect to quality. You will also participate in local and corporate meetings as required.

Desired education and skills

  • Postsecondary level, BSc. or Engineering degree, in a related discipline from a recognized academic institution is required.
  • American Society of Quality (ASQ) certification will be considered an asset.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a Quality Assurance role within a drug or medical device manufacturer.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on data manipulation, pivot tables, and report automation.
  • Experience with IT Information Systems support software and Information Technology Infrastructure Library, Service Design.
  • Experience with a Blood Management System or a Laboratory Information System is preferred.
  • Experience with SQL is a requirement, other experience with VBA and R is preferred.

What you can expect

  • This role will work in a hybrid environment with requirements to be onsite at a Canadian Blood Services location at least 40% of the time/2 days of the week.
  • You will work Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day.
  • The successful incumbent will work from our office location in Ottawa Lancaster Rd.
