    Annual Salary Range: $67, 083 - $87,617 depending on qualifications

    Purpose of Position

    The Human Resources Recruiter plays a key role in the development and delivery of innovative HR programs and services that support the mandate of the Pembina Trails School Division and allows the Division to attract, develop, motivate and retain a talented, engaged and diverse workforce. In conjunction with the Chief Human Resource Officer, this position identifies and implements HR initiatives that support the strategies and goals of the Division, and manages select human resource programs and services, with a key focus on recruitment, selection and onboarding, and return to work case management and duty to accommodate.

    Key Responsibilities

    Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Delivers all facets of recruiting to ensure that the Division is attracting and retaining top talent. Employs multiple sourcing strategies, participates in screening and interviews, verifies references, and ensures that all employment actions are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Develops and leads the new employee orientation program and onboarding process for all non-teaching groups.
  • Develops and delivers recruitment training.
  • Conducts exit interviews with departing employees.
  • Coordinates requests for work practicums within the Division.
  • Responsible for the recruitment of Educational Assistants, Secretary and Library Technician substitutes.
  • Maintains high level of knowledge of current trends and best practices related to recruitment, accommodations, employment equity, disability management, etc.
  • Coordinates and administers the Workers Compensation Program including but not limited to, working with various stakeholders to identify reasonable accommodations, outcomes and revises plans as required.
  • Makes recommendations on ways to improve claims experience by analyzing data and identifying trends.
  • Monitors short term medical leaves and long term disability claims.
  • Oversees/coordinates updates for the HR portal as needed.
  • Contributes to the research and development of human resources procedures.
  • Provides advice and guidance to staff and leaders on Workers Compensation and return-to-work plans.
  • Performs othe duties as may be assigned to support the efficient operation of the Department.
  • Skills and Qualifications

    Skill and Knowledge – Required:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or related field, and minimum 3 to 5 years experience in Human Resources, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) Designation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure, multi-task and prioritize.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Skill and Knowledge – Desired:
