Job Description:


Tasks:


  • Design, implement and maintain various INAC Oracle database systems;
  • Install Oracle Database software and tools;
  • Create and configure Oracle databases;
  • Configure and implement Oracle databases in support of Commercial Off The Shelf software implementations;
  • Maintain configuration control of the databases;
  • Develop and coordinate backup and disaster recovery procedures;
  • Develop and implement security procedures for the databases, including access and user account management;
  • Upgrade and patch Oracle Software;
  • Define, develop, test, and implement data conversion/load/migration strategies and specifications;
  • Review, analyze, and resolve INAC representatives and/or other contractor resources' (Web Developers, Programmer/Analysts and others at various levels) database requests sent daily to the Database Services mailbox;
  • Analyze proposed changes to existing databases and impact on data models and update data models in Erwin;
  • Provide assistance to INAC representatives and/other contractor resources (Business and System Analysts, Web Developers, Programmer/Analysts and others at various levels) relating to data issues and data analysis concepts.

Deliverables:


  • Logical and Physical data models are stored in Erwin;
  • Database conversion specifications are saved under the Database Support folder in GCdocs;
  • Database backups are made available to the database group (INAC representatives, contractor resources (Database Administrators and Database Analyst at various levels)) when require for restore and are saved as per INAC database backup procedures;
  • RFC database changes in production are documented and are saved under the Projects folder on the Database group shared drive;
  • Completed database scripts are available to the database group (INAC representatives, contractor resources (Database Administrators and, Database Analysts at various levels)) and are saved under the Projects folder on the Database group shared drive;
  • Oracle database software and instance installation, upgrade, or migration procedure and status are saved where appropriate under the Database Support folder in GCdocs;
  • Client database requests are documented in Helix ALM Client;

Qualifications:


  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the past 15 years designing, developing and maintaining logical and physical data models for databases with a minimum of 100 users.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the design, development and maintenance of data models in OLTP (online transaction processing) environments.
  • Worked on a minimum of two IT projects for Government or private sector in defining, developing, testing, and implementing data conversion/load/migration strategies and specifications.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading, assigning work packages and mentoring junior and intermediate level Database Modelers.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience writing Structured Query Language (SQL) in an Oracle database (10g, 11g, 12c and higher versions) or MS SQL Server (version 2008 and higher versions) environment.

Location of Work:

The work will be performed mainly via telework, but work may be performed on premises located throughout the National Capital Region (NCR).
