Data Analyst

Key Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Data Assessment: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and dependencies for the new system deployment. Analyze existing data structures, quality, and workflows to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Data Cleansing and Transformation: Utilize SQL or other querying languages to extract, cleanse, and transform data as needed to support system integration and migration efforts. Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency within the new system.
  • Data Visualization and Analysis: Develop and execute queries, reports, and dashboards to visualize and analyze data for insights and trends. Provide datadriven recommendations to stakeholders to inform decisionmaking throughout the system deployment process.
  • Data Migration Support: Collaborate with technical teams to ensure seamless migration of data from legacy systems to the new system. Validate data migration processes and perform reconciliation to ensure data integrity is maintained.
  • Testing and Validation: Develop and execute test cases and scenarios to validate data functionality within the new system. Coordinate with stakeholders to conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and gather feedback for iterative improvements.
  • Documentation and Documentation: Document data requirements, data mappings, and data dictionaries to ensure clarity and consistency in data definitions and usage. Create documentation to support endusers in understanding and utilizing data within the new system.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Work closely with crossfunctional teams, including business stakeholders, project managers, and technical teams, to ensure alignment on datarelated requirements and activities. Communicate effectively to address datarelated issues and concerns throughout the deployment process.
  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor data quality and performance postdeployment. Identify opportunities for enhancements, optimizations, and process improvements to maximize the value of data within the new system.

Qualification, Skills and Key Competencies Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or related field.
  • Proven experience (23 years) working as a Data Analyst, Data Engineer, or similar role, preferably in system deployment or implementation projects.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL or other querying languages for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to create reports and dashboards.
  • Solid understanding of data management principles, including data cleansing, transformation, and migration.
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills, with the ability to derive insights from complex datasets.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision and manage multiple priorities in a fastpaced environment.
  • Familiarity with Agile or iterative development methodologies is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., SQL certification, Tableau certification) are advantageous.

Working Conditions/Special Notes:


  • McKeil Marine Limited is a 24/7 operating business, this role will require after hours support for emergencies when business requirements dictate with regular oncall rotation.
  • The ability to work remotely at home as outlined by current Hybrid WFH protocols and policies.
