has been a guiding light in the Fraser Cascades area (Chilliwack, Agassiz, and Hope), offering pivotal outreach and residential services to youth under the care of the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD).

Our focus is on fostering a therapeutic culture in our homes, ensuring a safe, secure, and nurturing environment for children and youth experiencing challenging times.


Your Opportunity:
We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Youth Worker to join our team.

This role is central to our mission, involving direct interaction and mentorship of children and youth affected by family crises, including those facing behavioral challenges.

You will be instrumental in assessing needs, fostering positive relationships, and advocating for our clients.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Mentor and support children and youth through various challenges.
  • Assess developmental needs and strengths of youth.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and significant figures in their lives.
  • Collaborate with MCFD, healthcare providers, and other professionals in client care.
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate service plan goals.
  • Utilize community resources effectively as part of a goaloriented plan.
  • Advocate on behalf of clients and maintain confidential case notes.
  • Perform additional duties such as housekeeping, yard maintenance, and transportation.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Exceptional communication and behavior management skills, particularly with adolescents.
  • Proficient in teaching, consulting, and understanding adolescent development.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and general management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in computer skills and household management.
  • Cultural competency and a nonjudgmental, positive approach.

Qualifications:

  • Two years of postsecondary education or training in child/youth care or related field.
  • Two years of experience with children and youth with behavioral challenges.
  • Standard First Aid with CPR certificate.
  • Must pass a Criminal record check and MCFD HUB check.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License and reliable vehicle with 3 million liability and business insurance.
  • Understanding of mental health, substance misuse, attachment, and traumainformed practice.
  • Availability for weekdays, weekends, holidays, and 24hour shifts.
