The Customer Promotions team plays a critical role in driving competitiveness at our key retailers by translating Brand & retailer priorities into customer-centric omnichannel programs.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Development of Retailer Specific Customer Marketing Strategy

Ensure General Mills Canada is current on retailer marketing, ecommerce and category priorities and strategies.

Liaise with General Mills Canada Brand Marketing and Brand Experience to effectively translate brand strategy and consumer insight into actionable customer specific marketing strategies.

Prioritize customer and brand opportunities with a keen focus on commercial viability and ROI.
Present strategies and ideas to key stakeholders. Build excitement and secure commitment for ideas.

Relationships & Influence

Effectively establish General Mills Canada as the leading voice in how to win at retail with the connected shopper.
Develop strong relationships with key retailer stakeholders to understand and translate needs into business opportunities.
Be the point of inspiration for the customers, to elevate and deliver best in-class brand building programming

Expanding Capabilities

Build a best-in-class suite of marketing capabilities for monetization with the customer.
Ensure that our brands show up brilliantly on our retailers' digital shelves (i.e., optimized PDP content, effective search strategy)
Track and actualize emerging capabilities within retailer media platforms, digital, social, in-store, POS, on-pack, experiential.

Project Management

Manage and track multiple shopper marketing programs from ideation to activation.
Implement innovative solutions to maximize business opportunities and drive market leadership.
Demonstrate the ability and initiative to accept high levels of delegated responsibility and work with mínimal supervision.
Provide direction to agencies to develop effective shopper marketing programs that build brand equity and deliver sales results.
Management of negotiations with agency partners and key supplier.
Lead internal and external multi-level, cross-functional teams to ensure flawless in-store execution.

Development of Consumer-First Cohesive Campaigns

Effectively utilize consumer research as well as first-hand experience to unlock key insights and opportunities.
Collaborate with agency partners to maximize communication and create best in class in-store marketing campaigns.
Lead agency briefings and production of all campaign/creative assets.
Lead development of all consumer communication touch points.

Budget Management & Program Evaluation

Optimize the efficiency of customer marketing activities and spend.
Lead post-game analysis and strategic recommendations to optimize future performance and drive growth.
Manage to the budget and communicate/update spending vs. plan.

Digital Expertise:

Preferred that the individual has a foundational understanding of digital media (i.e., tactics, metrics, etc.) & experience in delivering consumer-first campaigns.


Analytical Skills:

Critical that this individual is able to work with large data sets & distill them down into compelling/actionable insights.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A post-secondary university degree/diploma in a related field
1-2 years of experience, preferably in Customer Marketing, ecommerce, Promotion agency, Shopper Marketing and/or Sales
Solid understanding of the role of Omnichannel Marketing, as well as the consumer-packaged goods industry
Bilingual (French) an asset
