Job Description:

Seeking a childcare supervisor who can manage and lead a brand new childcare centre in Richmond Hill.


The successful EYES Childcare Supervisor is an experienced and exceptional RECE that will provide supervision and leadership to ensure the nurturing care and education to young children in a childcare environment following the Montessori and Reggio Emilio Philosophies.

They will lead in accordance with the goals, curriculum, philosophy and polices of the EYES franchise and the center.

The supervisor will be responsible for the strict compliance with the CCEYA, the Ministry of Education, York Region's Children Services, Public Health and other regulator bodies


Qualifications:


  • Registered ECE (required)
  • Good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators
  • Minimum 2 years working in a licensed childcare facility
  • Able to obtain a clear Police Vulnerable Sector Screening, First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate
  • Level C, and meet health requirements
  • Experience with Montessori method an asset
  • Food Handler's Certificate an asset

The supervisor's primary duties and responsibilities include

  • Ensure centre complies with the Ministry of Education Child Care and Early Years Act and the Municipal criteria
  • Collaborate with staff to develop and implement creative child programs that are age appropriate
  • Develop and grow philosophies and practices to meet the children's needs
  • Foster an environment that respects children's strengths, rights, and needs
  • Oversee programming content and age appropriateness of programming
  • Ensure that children receive healthy, nutritious, and balanced lunches and snacks in accordance with all applicable public health
  • Maintain accurate records on each child including medical, consent forms, transition and attendance records
  • Lead staff by motivating, mentoring, and coaching
  • Promote staff performance through frequent formal and informal constructive feedback and staff evaluations
  • Identify training and professional development opportunities for staff
  • Manage the logístical elements of staffing such as organizing staffing requirements and schedules, maintaining accurate and uptodate staff records, and scheduling staff meetings
  • Responsible for maximizing enrolment through promoting, marketing, and advertising the centre
  • Pursue alternative funding, such as subsidies, grants, fundraising, and donations Manage and oversee the finances and accounting of the centre: including payroll, staff hours, and accounts receivable and payable
  • Make sure safety and cleanliness is maintained in the classrooms and in the centre
  • Reporting to, and communicating closely with the Executive Director
  • Ensuring that all legislation pertaining to the CCEYA and Operating criteria are implemented
  • Working closely with Executive Director and assist the ED in all aspects of the dayto
- day operation of the centre

  • Lead and guide staff in the development and implementation of children's programming
  • Ability to work as an effective team member, fostering a childcentered, familyfriendly atmosphere
  • Assist in age appropriate and positive Behaviour Management of children
  • Communicating and supporting families, with a high ESL component and diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Lead regarding managing external human resources (such as volunteers, students)
  • Lead in managing facilities and ensure a safe and healthy environment
  • Able to support Executive Director in the implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Staff and Children's files uptodate, all other requirements
  • Regular meetings with Parents, Staff, and Directors
  • Meeting and maintaining Subsidy requirements and Criteria Check
  • Maintaining Social Media and regular promotions
  • All the Classroom and Office files, folders up to date and labelled
Centre and Classroom boards maintained regularly and up to date
