RESPONSIBILITIES


Cleans and stores dishes, glassware and silverware used by food and beverage outlets and ensures the area surrounding the dishwasher is clean and organized.


DUTIES

Dishwashing

  • Picks up dirty dishes, utensils, pots and pans from Kitchen work stations.
  • Sorts, prewashes, stack and feeds dishwashing equipment and washes large items by hand
  • Loads the trolley and delivers dishes to work stations.
  • Stores dishes, glassware and silverware in designated areas.
  • Controls the use of dishwashing equipment and feeds detergents.
  • Cleans and organizes equipment and work area.
  • Sets up 3 compartment sink

Cleaning

  • Replaces nonslip rubber matting on the floor each morning.
  • Cleans fridges, freezers, and storage areas.
  • Cleans kitchen utensils, racks, shelves, and sink daily.
  • Cleans dish trolleys and cleans and sanitizes dishwashing machine
  • Sweep and mop all areas of the kitchen.

Other

  • Complies with Hotel policies and procedures.
  • Punches in and out in the heartland
  • Controls usage of supplies.
  • Remove garbage to compactor as required
  • Notifies the Executive Chef or Sous Chef of damage to or problems with equipment.
  • Provides assistance to other areas of the Kitchen during slow periods and in other departments as required.
  • Actively participates on teams as assigned and in all assigned training programs.
  • Ensures the adequate supply of utensils, plates, condiments, glasses, beverages in the staff cafeteria
  • Daily set up and breakdown of staff food in the cafeteria
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by Management.

Safety & Wellness

  • Works in compliance with company Safety & Wellness policies and procedures and complies with WHIMIS training
  • Uses or wears personal protective equipment or clothing as required by the employer.
  • Reports any accident/incident to the supervisor.
  • Reports any unsafe or hazardous condition/practice to the supervisor.
  • Maintains work area in a clean, orderly manner.
  • Never operates any equipment, machine, device or work process in a manner that will endanger him/herself, another worker, or a guest.
